K.A. Luckett was born on June 30, 1964, in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He spent much of his time as a youth on his grandfather's farm. After graduating in 1982 from Dyersburg High School, he worked for a few years, later entering Freed-Hardman University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1992. Luckett entered law enforcement a couple of years later, where he continues to serve his community with dedication. Luckett considers himself lucky, always having the support of family and friends. While his family has suffered the inevitable losses, he continues to draw support from them, remembering the words of his mother Cordellia Luckett, "Don't give up, I'm with you all the way."
